Common Garmin Watch pairing issues and how to fix them

If you run into problems pairing your Garmin Watch, try these steps to fix the issue.

The Garmin Connect app can’t locate your Garmin Watch

If the Garmin Connect app can’t find your watch, you may need to put it in pairing mode. To activate pairing mode, go to Settings > Bluetooth or Phone > Pair Mobile Device on your Garmin Watch.

Pairing fails during setup

If the Garmin Connect app successfully locates your watch but can’t pair to it, follow these steps to resolve the problem:

  • Restart your Garmin Watch and your phone.
  • Make sure you didn’t connect your Garmin Watch to your phone’s Bluetooth settings. If so, remove it.

If the Bluetooth connection frequently fails between your Garmin Watch and your phone, check for updates on your Garmin Watch and make sure it isn’t paired to multiple devices.

Garmin Watch doesn’t receive notifications

This is a common issue and can usually be resolved by checking the settings in your Garmin Watch.

  • Check the Notification Widget/Glance is turned on.
  • Check your Notifications settings.
  • Check Do Not Disturb is set to off.

Track your fitness goals with your watch

Garmin Watches are an effective way to track your fitness goals, but they may be too bulky for everyday use. Instead, consider the rapidly growing market of smart rings.
