Best robot mops in 2024

Best robot mops in 2024

Mopping the floor is a chore, whether you’re cleaning your own house or the kitchen in a restaurant. Thankfully, mops and buckets are being replaced with robot mops and vacuums to make this tiresome requirement a little more bearable.

Yes, friends, robot mops are now a thing. For the most part, you’ll find these products described as vacuum-mop hybrids. These are bots with removable mop heads that are attached when scrubbing hard floors. When you’re not mopping, you can either pull the pads off, or the bot itself can lift them away to avoid carpeting, a feature you’ll find on more advanced models.

On top of anti-tip sensors, dirt, and water removal tanks (for some models), and intuitive companion apps, robot mops offer many other great features. There are many bot mops to choose from, though, and this list includes the best ones to help you choose.

Top picks for the best robot mops

Eufy Omni S1 Pro robot vacuum on white background

Eufy Omni S1 Pro

Best overall

Unmatched mopping performance

The Eufy Omni S1 Pro utilizes advanced self-cleaning technology to ensure its roller mop stays clean throughout the mopping process, providing spotless floors every time. It also performs well as a vacuum cleaner, delivering up to 8,000Pa of suction power, allowing for effortless lifting of pet hair, dust bunnies, crumbs, and other household debris.

Pros

  • Requires minimal maintenance
  • Precise navigation system
  • Self-cleans mop
Cons

  • Doesn’t work with Apple HomeKit
  • A bit loud at the highest setting

The Eufy Omni S1 Pro boasts an advanced mopping system featuring a 290mm long roller mop that spins at 170rpm for fast and efficient cleaning. We like that the bot scrapes and rinses its mop after every few passes as it cleans, making this one of the models around. It can remove most floor stains with minimal effort, faster than most bots in its class. We cleaned 670 square feet of floor space in less than two hours, which is great considering the robot’s size.

Plus, it has two tanks — one for storing clean water and another that catches dirty water from the mop. As such, the Omni S1 Pro can make multiple passes without leaving streaks on surfaces. Better yet, Eufys’ Omni S1 Pro robot mop has one of the best navigation systems powered by neatly hidden LiDAR sensors, giving it its low-profile design. The lack of a LiDAR dome at the top makes it easy for the bot to get under furniture for a complete clean.

Eufy Omni S1 Pro robot vacuum review: Advanced hygiene, powerful cleaning

Even with a few caveats, the Omni S1 Pro is a new household staple

What’s more, the S1 Pro has a vacuum function and delivers up to 8,000Pa of suction force, allowing it to lift dirt and debris effectively. There are also two side brushes for cleaning along baseboards. Users can monitor and control the bot from their phones through the Mach app. Although the Omni S1 Pro lacks support for Apple HomeKit, it’s compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant platforms.

The Narwal Freo Robot Vacuum-Mop and smartphone against a white background

Narwal Freo

Premium pick

Stylish, quiet, and effective

$1000 $1400 Save $400

The Narwal Freo is expensive but super efficient and can effectively clean hardwood, tile, marble, laminate, and other floor types without causing damage. It has a series of sensors that help with cleaning and obstacle detection, can run for two hours on a single charge, cleans quietly at 51dB, boasts auto mop lifting, cleans edges, is Wi-Fi compatible (2.4 GHz), provides multi-level mapping, and has an app.

Pros

  • Automatically sanitizes mop pads
  • Spontaneous cleaning
  • Easy set up
Cons

  • Only connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

The Narwal Freo will keep your floors spotlessly clean whether you’re home or away. All you need to do is set a schedule through the Narwal app for autonomous cleaning. Like most robot floor cleaners, the Freo can vacuum and mop surfaces concurrently but also uses the two modes separately when needed. It has a maximum suction of 3,000Pa and can clean for 160 minutes with one charge. The triangular mop pads on this robot mop can cover a relatively wide area with each pass and deliver an impressive 2.70 pounds of scrubbing power.

What we like most about this unit is that it automatically customizes the downward force according to floor type. For example, hardwood floors will only receive 1.60 pounds of pressure, while tile and marble flooring get the full scrubbing force of the Freo. It also adjusts wetness for safe stain removal on even the most delicate flooring materials. Furthermore, the robot cleans its mop pads during each cleaning session, meaning it won’t leave dirt streak marks on the floors.

It accurately maps the floor space for easy identification and avoidance of obstacles. The bot can easily access and clean edges with the swing function, which allows it to move close to walls. With the child lock in place, you won’t have to worry about your kids or furry friends activating the robot mop accidentally. The Freo robot mop runs quietly between 48 and 51dB and has a roller brush that lifts pet hair from rugs and carpets. It connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks and can work with Google Assistant, Siri, and Alexa.

Ultenic T10 Pro robot vacuum on its base against a white background, with images of the mop pads and app

Ultenic T10 Pro

Best value

Gets the job done

$400 $600 Save $200

The Ultenic T10 Pro is an affordable robot vacuum and mop combo that offers basic features, making it ideal for those on a budget. It generates 4,000Pa of vacuuming power, so you can do away with solid debris before engaging the mop function. Additionally, it uses LiDAR sensors for object detection and works with Amazon Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant.

Pros

  • Can store maps of multiple floor layouts
  • Self-emptying
  • Great suction

If you are looking for a basic robot mop that doubles as a vacuum cleaner, the Ultenic T10 Pro is a great pick. It has two fast-spinning mop pads that scrub floors without damage. However, the T10 Pro doesn’t clean its mop pads like most high-end robot mops, so you’ll have to wash them manually before or after each cleaning session, which can be time-consuming.

The vacuum function also packs a punch, easily lifting cat fur, dirt, and other small debris from surfaces during testing. To make it even better, the T10 Pro features a floating bristled brush that brings debris to the surface for efficient vacuuming. It works best on low-pile carpets and automatically adjusts suction when it moves from hard flooring to a rug.

Ultenic T10 Pro review: Pro vacuum, amateur mop

Ultenic’s affordable robot vac is great for the basics, but its mopping doesn’t live up to the name

The onboard LiDAR sensors guide the T10 Pro, allowing it to move systematically as it vacuums or mops. Unfortunately, the navigation system can lead the robot on the wrong path at times. Also, the object detection system could be more accurate. The robot mop often ran over small obstacles or got stuck on cables. Similar to most smart robot mops, the T10 Pro has an app for creating cleaning schedules. It also responds to voice commands via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri.

Ecovacs Deebo T30s on a white background

Ecovacs Deebot T30S Combo

Best all-in-one

Can do it all

$1050 $1200 Save $150

The Ecovacs Deebot T30s Combo is a versatile unit with a lot to offer, including a hand vacuum with easy-to-attach accessories for cleaning surfaces and a high-performance bot that will keep your floors spotless. You will like the T30ss 11,000Pa suction and advanced hot water mop-washing system for germ-free mop pads.

Pros

  • Built-in assistant
  • Hygienic mopping
  • Excellent suction
Cons

  • Navigation system needs improvement

The Ecovacs Deebot T30s is one of the most powerful robot vacuum and mop combos we’ve ever tested, delivering up to 11,000Pa of vacuuming force for quick removal of pet hair, dirt, and debris. Moreover, it has a bristled roller brush that digs deep into carpets, easily lifting embedded dirt and hair strands. The only problem is that the brush is more likely to get tangled than bristleless options. We had to manually detangle the brush on several occasions, so Ecovacs should consider improving their anti-tangle technology.

On the plus side, the Deebot T30s delivers good mopping performance, thanks to its well-placed mop pads. Since the mop pads slightly extend outward, this bot can clean along baseboards, so no crevice is missed. Best of all, it self-cleans the mop pads and dries them with hot air, preventing the spread of germs. The Deebot T30s also has an auto-emptying function that transfers dirt to the docking station when the onboard dustbin is full.

A robovac for the floors and a handheld for everywhere else

You will be happy to know this robot mop comes with a hand vacuum, crevice tool, mini brush, and a flat brush, all of which can come in handy when cleaning the surfaces around your home. With the help of the Ecovacs app, users can customize the T30s according to their cleaning needs. In addition, you can control the bot using Google Assistant, Alexa, or Yiko. The built-in Yiko assistant, however, may struggle to process some commands, as we found out during testing.

iRobot Braava Jet M6

Best smart robot mop

Quick stain removal

$350 $500 Save $150

The iRobot Braava Jet M6 is a highly-rated robot mop that will leave your floors cleaner than before. It only focuses on mopping, supports voice control, dispenses jets of water for maximum coverage, features two cleaning modes, has replaceable mop pads, saves cleaning schedules, can mop nonstop for 150 minutes, and is relatively quiet at 63dB.

Pros

  • Intelligent mapping
  • Voice control
  • Edge cleaning

The iRobot Braava Jet M6 complements Roomba robot vacuums, particularly the Roomba S9+, so if you already own one, do not hesitate to buy the Braava M6. Unlike most robot cleaners that vacuum and mop, this model only focuses on the latter and is good at what it does. It delivers a steady stream of water to help soak stubborn stains for quick removal. The M6 comes with dry and wet cleaning pads you can use at different stages of mopping.

In addition to this, the robot can adjust cleaning cycles automatically to ensure the floor remains spotless. The front bumper moves freely, allowing the Braava M6 to mop close to the edges without getting stuck. This bot links with the iRobot Home app via Wi-Fi and works with Google Home, Siri, and Amazon Alexa. You’ll be happy to know the M6 moves in tight rows, so the chances of missing a spot are minimal.

It can prioritize some areas for deep cleaning and intelligently avoid obstacles, pets, and stairs. This floor cleaner can save multiple mopping schedules for a personalized cleaning experience. The rechargeable battery can last for about 160 minutes when fully charged. With the Braava Jet M6, you can mop tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and marble, to mention but a few.

$580 $820 Save $240

The Roborock Q8 Max+ has everything you may look for in a vacuum and mop combo. It relies on the LiDAR navigation system, provides 30 wetting levels for customized mopping, sucks in debris at 5,500 Pa, offers long runtime of about 240 minutes, is quiet at 69dB, features a dual roller rubber brush, has a 350ml water tank, and is compatible with the Roborock app.

Pros

  • App has a user-friendly interface
  • Multi-level mapping
  • Self-emptying
Cons

  • It would be better if it cleaned the mop pads

Roborock is known for its high-performance floor-cleaning robots, and the Q8 Max+ is here to prove yet again that the brand means business. This robot vacuum and mop combo is Wi-Fi compatible (only 2.4 GHz networks), and you can control it wirelessly using your phone through the Roborock app. It gives complete control of the cleaning process, enabling you to choose when and where to clean and the ideal cleaning mode for the job.

The mopping mode has 30 water levels that you can use on different floor types and stains. Best of all, the 350ml water tank will allow you to mop roughly 600 square feet of floor coverage without needing a refill. However, this may vary depending on the level of water you are using and the floor material. The vacuum mode is equally effective, delivering 5,500Pa of suction while producing about 69dB at the highest setting.

Also, the dual roller rubber brush makes carpet cleaning a cinch and lifts small and large debris. The Roborock Q8 Max+ supports voice commands and easily integrates with Apple Siri, Alexa, and Google Home. Because it uses LiDAR navigation, this bot effortlessly avoids objects and stairs, with the child lock preventing unintentional start-ups.

Best self-cleaning

Exceptionally versatile

$1300 $1600 Save $300

The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo is a bit expensive, but worth it, considering the amazing features it offers. For starters, it comes with a versatile hand vacuum that can prove helpful in different scenarios and boasts a hygienic mop washing system that saves you the hassle of manual mop pad cleaning.

Pros

  • Additional accessories included
  • Good mopping performance
  • Easy maintenance
Cons

  • Navigation system could be better

The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo is another reliable vac-mop hybrid. It has two mop pads that offer excellent scrubbing performance and an advanced self-cleaning system to ensure floors remain germ-free. After each mopping cycle, the Deebot X2 will rinse the mop pads with hot water to keep your hands clean. On the other hand, the vacuum system generates 8,700Pa of suction power and can lift debris from hard floors and carpets.

You can manage the settings and available functions through the Ecovacs app, meaning you can vacuum or mop while comfortably seated. Furthermore, the bot supports voice commands and can work with Google Assistant or Alexa. Alternatively, you can use Ecovacs’s Yiko assistant, which is more convenient because it doesn’t require a smart speaker or an app. However, we noticed during testing that the built-in voice assistant struggles to process some commands and may not always be reliable.

Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo review: All-in-one cleaning powerhouse

It vacuums where a robovac can’t

Despite its camera and LiDAR sensors, the Deebot X2 Combo still can’t detect small objects. It ran over cables on more than one occasion and left unclean patches around obstacles. The bot would also be better if it had extending mop pads for easy cleaning along baseboards. But, overall, this is a good robot cleaner with a versatile hand vacuum that you can use for cleaning a range of surfaces in your home.

irobot roomba combo j7 plus and docking station, angled view

iRobot Roomba Combo j7+

Best combo

Now it’s mopping, now it’s not

$699 $1100 Save $401

The Yeedi Cube is a self-cleaning robot mop and vacuum with a large water tank (1l) and adjustable suction up to 5,100Pa. This unit auto lifts when mopping, cleans the mop pad, has side brushes, works with most smart home assistants (Alexa, Siri, and Google), and has a reliable battery with 180 minutes of uninterrupted usage after each charge.

Pros

  • SmartScrub for extra-dirty spots
  • Automatic carpet detection
  • Four-stage cleaning system
Cons

  • Not the best battery life
  • May need to mop certain areas more than once

One of the iRobot Roomba Combo j7+’s best features is its automatic carpet detection. This bot is intelligent enough to know when it’s not hovering over tiles or laminate flooring. When encountering carpet, mop pads lift to avoid dirty water messing up your floors. iRobot calls this “Dry Rug Intelligence” (or DRI), and it’s a big win.

SmartScrub is another terrific mopping feature. When the j7+ detects a particularly messy area to mop, it’ll scrub back and forth with consistent pressure. Using the Roomba app, you can also tell the j7+ what rooms to spend extra time cleaning, as well as what areas to avoid.

On top of its excellent mopping tech, the Combo j7+ delivers a powerful vacuuming experience, too. Thanks to powerful suction and up to 60 days of dirt disposal via the automatic tank, you won’t have to worry about consistent maintenance.

Important robot mop features

When vetting and testing robot mops and robot vacuums, here are four important criteria to consider.

Mop-only or hybrid

If you’re only buying a robot mop because mopping is all you want it to do, you may have a harder time finding an appropriate model. This is because most robot mops are actually vacuum-mop combos. That being said, if you can find a mop-only model, you’ll inevitably save some cash (because you won’t be paying for vacuuming capabilities).

However, hybrid models usually don’t cost much more than traditional mop bots, and you’ll have added suction and filtration tech benefits.

Carpet and floor detection

Nothing is worse than watching a robot mop drag its wet pads across your beautiful carpet. Trust us, we’ve been there. Fortunately, there are robot mops that are smart enough to know when it’s time to lift the mop heads away. It’s a feature called automatic carpet detection, which is about as literal as it sounds. When the bot detects carpet, it switches out of mop mode.

Auto carpet detection is found on many robot mops, but it tends to be a premium feature. So if you’re looking at a robot mop that’s less than $200, chances are you’ll have to manually remove the mop heads yourself or create No-Go Zones in the bot’s companion app to avoid mopping certain areas.

Battery

Depending on how large your home is, and how many surfaces aren’t carpeted, you’ll want to invest in a bot mop that can stand the test of time, literally. More than two hours of cleaning power is sufficient, but you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for bot mops that push three to three-and-a-half hours of performance.

And what do you do if the battery starts running out? Many robot mops are actually smart enough to return to the charging dock, but other units are far less savvy.

In-app capabilities

Sometimes robot mops distribute too much water, and some models distribute too little. Water pressure, water load, and whether you’re using a cleaning solution are all important parts of your robot mop’s cleaning capabilities, and many bot apps will let you customize these settings to best match your home’s cleaning needs.

Other in-app adjustments include suction power, voice assistant integration, and the ability to create cleaning schedules and routines. Some robot mops don’t even have companion apps, so if you’re looking for as much control as possible, it’s a good idea to stick with models that include control software.

Best robot mop for squeaky clean floors

Robot mops can save you a lot of time, money, and elbow grease. These autonomous scrub soldiers are capable of many things and are small enough to keep out of sight when they’re not in use. For our money, though, we think most will love the Eufy Omni S1 Pro.

The Eufy Omni S1 Pro is rather pricey but is one of the best robot mops in town. It features an advanced mop washing system that cleans the roller mop continuously as the bot moves, simply removing surface stains with a single pass. Of course, there’s also our premium pick, the incredible Narwal Freo, to consider.

Capable of cleaning tile, marble, laminate, hardwood, and other surfaces, the Freo automatically sanitizes mop pads between cleaning cycles and features automatic carpet detection. But if you’d rather save cash, you should consider the Ultenic T10 Pro. It has all the basic features one might look for in a robot mop and is reasonably priced.
