Google’s most advanced phone deserves the most advanced cases
Unique among today’s great foldable phones, the Google Pixel Fold opens up into a 6:5 aspect ratio tablet that’s wider than it is tall. Its form factor, plus the basic nature of folding phones, means it’s a little tougher than most to find the perfect case for, but its high cost makes finding that case a near necessity.
Luckily, there’s a wealth of great cases to choose from. Unluckily, some of the best cost considerably more than a typical phone case. But there are a few in the middle that offer precise engineering without breaking the bank. Whether you’re willing to go all out investing in protection for your folding tablet, or want to protect your high-dollar phone with something reasonably priced, one of these well-made cases should fit the bill.

More so than with most phones, it’s worth considering the OEM Google Pixel Fold case because it’s sure to fit precisely, whereas some third-party options suffer from fitment issues. Know when to fold ’em
The Pixel Fold’s size and form factor make it tough to design an ideal case for, not unlike foldables in general. Now with the benefit of some long-term reviews, it’s clear that some major manufacturers missed the mark in delivering perfect fits for this massive folding phablet.
We’ve zeroed in on some top-quality options that work almost perfectly, though, starting with Google’s own OEM case. It offers the most snug fit possible and adds little weight and bulk, and its design and color options blend seamlessly with either Pixel Fold color. While it’s not cheap, we recommend it for anybody who’s particularly concerned about a precise, slip-free fit.
But it’s not the only great option. Pitaka’s MagEZ and its aramid-fiber construction make it as slim as anything available, and as durable, too. Few others offer a MagSafe ring in the back, either, although the Fold’s weight can make MagSafe connections a little dicey (and there’s little a case manufacturer could do about that). If you like that aesthetic and material quality but want to spend less, Latercase’s Cyber Edition checks most of the same boxes, other than the magnets.
On the other end of the spectrum, we’ve highlighted some low-cost options that protect and fit surprisingly well. Foluu’s leather case is the best, looking and feeling far better than a $13 case has any right to. The Caseology Parallax offers more protection (although a bit more bulk, too), along with the subtle, high-grip pattern the lineup’s known for. We’re also big fans of the Ghostek Covert and Poetic Spartan, which fall in the middle of the price range and boast better protection than most competitors.
Once you’ve picked your case, make sure to add in a screen protector for your Google Pixel Fold as well to keep it as protected as possible, making that shiny outer screen resistant to scratches and cracks.
