Even a year on, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is still an absolutely fantastic phone, thanks to a beautiful display, class-leading performance, and now all of the Galaxy AI features from One UI 6.1. It’s no wonder that it was one of our favorite Android phones until the Galaxy S24 Ultra succeeded it. As a Samsung product, plenty of accessories are available, and we’ve already made a list of the best cases for this phone overall.

This is not your father’s wallet case. While Ghostek used to use a proprietary clip system with its Exec wallet cases, they’ve upgraded to MagSafe these days. It allows for easier application and removal of the wallet as well as giving you the option to swap the boring black wallet for a third-party option with more color or pizzazz. The pink/white combo won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but the Gray and Black colorways get the job done while staying under the radar.
Picking the most useful wallet case for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
While the S23 lineup was the first to introduce Corning’s impressive Gorilla Glass Victus 2, it is still wrapped with glass, and glass can scratch, chip, and break. A good case will keep your $1,000+ investment out of harm’s way, and getting one with storage space for cards and a little cash can help offset the S23 Ultra’s remarkable bulk.
Our favorite, the Wallet Slayer Vol. 1 from Smartish, leverages competent engineering including air cushioning, high-grip textures, and a spring-loaded compartment to protect your phone and ensure your stuff stays put inside. Not only is it impeccably constructed, it’s not even all that expensive. Plus, you can choose from a few fun designs or, if you buy directly from the manufacturer, create your own personalized look.
If you’re willing to spend a decent amount, OtterBox offers a high-end option from the Strada Series. It doesn’t just offer storage space and the great protection the brand’s known for, it also boasts military-spec durability testing, a real leather makeup, wireless charging support, and a limited lifetime warranty. It’s pricey, but so is the S23 Ultra, after all.
That said, you don’t need to spend a fortune for a great wallet case. The back of the Spigen Slim Armor CS (for Card Slot) slides open to reveal room for a pair of cards, and protects from bumps and bruises as well as anything. It’s a steal at just over $21, but bear in mind it’ll keep you from using wireless chargers.
If you’re into a more traditional folio case, you can’t do better than the Torro Premium. Like all Torro offerings, it’s made from some of the best leather on the case market, and hand-stitched with care to ensure a long life. Another of our favorites, the Ghostek Exec, features a magnetic, removable wallet compartment, so you won’t have to lug around the added bulk when you don’t need it.
Finally, a quality case is just one step in protecting your phone. Getting a reliable, easily installed S23 Ultra screen protector is every bit as important, since it can absorb shock and withstand scratches and nicks instead of letting the Gorilla Glass take the brunt of the damage.
